According to research reports, it is projected that the Earth's average temperature will rise by more than 7.5 degrees Celsius by 2070. These disasters are caused by the excessive exploitation of natural resources, leading to the destruction of ecological environments and rapid loss of carbon sequestration. We focus on Taiwan's natural carbon sink as the main axis, developing carbon sink experiential teaching materials. Through visual information graphics, AR augmented reality, interdisciplinary integration, videos, and hands-on measurements, we aim to develop carbon sequestration experiential products. This initiative aims to help families understand the cycle of carbon reduction actions!

Introduction to carbon sinks

碳匯介紹

由於自然碳匯是一個無形的有機體,所以我們賦予全新的碳種意象,來增加記憶點

As natural carbon sinks are intangible organic entities, we are introducing a completely new imagery for carbon species to enhance memorability.

土壤培過程亦會排放溫室氣體,推助暖化升溫。因此,專家建議農耕方式必須改變,用土壤固碳可為氣候變遷找到解方。

The process of soil cultivation also emits greenhouse gases, contributing to global warming. Therefore, experts recommend changing agricultural practices, as soil carbon sequestration can provide a solution for climate change.

樹木可以把空氣中4公斤的二氧化碳轉成1公斤的木材放到肚子裡,1棵樹木有生之年大概可以吸收900公斤的二氧化碳。

Trees can absorb approximately 4 kilograms of carbon dioxide from the air and store 1 kilogram of carbon in their biomass. Throughout their lifespan, a single tree can absorb around 900 kilograms of carbon dioxide.

藍碳具有碳封存潛力,臺灣學者及政府已對海草床、紅樹林及潮汐鹽沼生態系之資源有初步資料,需要持續長期觀測及模式建立。

Blue carbon possesses carbon sequestration potential. Taiwanese scholars and the government have gathered preliminary data on resources such as seagrass beds, mangroves, and tidal salt marsh ecosystems. Continuous long-term monitoring and model establishment are needed.

以「台灣自然碳匯」為核心,旨在教育9-12歲的學童了解氣候變遷。透過資訊圖表、體驗教材和AR數位體驗作為學習平台,利用寓教於樂的方式學習,啟發對生態永續的關懷。

Centered around "Taiwan's Natural Carbon Sink," the aim is to educate children aged 9-12 about climate change. Utilizing information graphics, experiential teaching materials, and AR digital experiences as learning platforms, the goal is to make learning enjoyable and inspire care for ecological sustainability.

綠碳體驗教材

透過三角尺、捲尺等量測工具,孩子們可以測量一棵樹木的尺寸,並使用學習單計算其一年的碳排放量。這樣的活動讓孩子們思考樹木在減碳中的角色,並了解日常生活中的碳排放量。

Through tools like a triangular ruler and measuring tape, children can measure the dimensions of a tree and use worksheets to calculate its annual carbon emissions. This activity encourages children to reflect on the role of trees in carbon reduction and understand carbon emissions in their daily lives.

黃碳體驗教材

Yellow CarbonExperiential Teaching Materials

概念是使用土壤檢測包,讓孩子們在家中或戶外測量他們盆栽土壤的酸鹼度。根據測量結果,他們可以使用我們提供的肥料包來改善土壤的酸鹼度,從而提高土壤對碳排放的吸收能力。

The concept involves using a soil testing kit, allowing children to measure the pH levels of the soil in their potted plants at home or outdoors. Based on the measurement results, they can use the fertilizer packs we provide to adjust the soil pH, thereby enhancing the soil's ability to absorb carbon emissions.

Blue CarbonExperiential Teaching Materials

藍碳領域牽涉非常廣泛,固碳與計算方式複雜, 因此藍碳體驗教材特別以AR拓增實境的形式呈現,讓親子們掃描圖卡,觀看立體畫面,並了解當地生物減少二氧化碳排放的相關資訊。這樣的活動讓孩子們更深入地了解海洋生態系統中的碳循環。

The field of blue carbon is extensive, with complex carbon sequestration processes and calculations. Therefore, blue carbon experiential teaching materials are presented in augmented reality (AR) format, allowing parents and children to scan picture cards, view three-dimensional images, and understand information related to reducing carbon dioxide emissions from local organisms. This activity enables children to gain a deeper understanding of carbon cycling in marine ecosystems.

淨零排碳紀念紙鈔公益勸募植栽行動

我們推出2050種子紀念鈔,鼓勵環保行動,象徵著2050淨零碳排的希望。透過公益勸募籌集資投入友善植栽計劃,支持植樹造林、生態保護等環境保護活動。

碳匯紙鈔設計融合了可種植的種子紙技術,以生態友善的方式呈現。紙鈔上面印了藍、綠、黃的生態,讓使用者在使用後可以將紙鈔埋入土壤中使種子發芽生長,成為綠色植物。

We are introducing the 2050 Seed Commemorative Banknote to encourage environmental action, symbolizing hope for achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Through charitable fundraising, we aim to collect funds to invest in eco-friendly planting initiatives, supporting activities such as tree planting, afforestation, and ecological conservation.

The design of the Carbon Offset Banknote incorporates seed paper technology, allowing it to be planted in an eco-friendly manner. The banknote features blue, green, and yellow ecology prints, enabling users to bury the banknote in soil after use, allowing the seeds to germinate and grow into green plants.

念幣是由於台灣 2050 淨零排放目標近幾年有推動碳權交易所的概念使用虛擬貨幣去交易我們想利用這個概念去設計一個實際碰觸的到並且有教育意義的紀念幣,並結合AR互動體驗,讓紀念幣更生動有趣。

Combining the concept of Taiwan's 2050 net-zero emissions target with the recent promotion of carbon trading platforms, which involve the use of virtual currencies for trading, we aim to design a tangible and educational commemorative coin,Additionally, integrating AR interactive experiences will make the commemorative coin more dynamic and engaging.

We will develop a comprehensive set of carbon sink experiential teaching materials, including blue, green, and yellow cycle diagrams, visual information learning booklets, and augmented reality experiences. By breaking away from traditional teaching frameworks, we aim to inspire children to care about environmental sustainability. Through immersive experiences, we will deepen their understanding of carbon sinks and cultivate the next generation's awareness of sustainability. Together, we will strive for a future that is environmentally friendly.
